Once records are right and leave is running, you have earned the right to add more. The order matters less here, but the principle does: add a module when you have a real process waiting for it, not because it is included in your plan.

Recruitment and applicant tracking

Included on the SME and Enterprise plans, with a jobs portal. Worth switching on when you have an open role to run through it, because an empty pipeline teaches you nothing.

One thing to establish during setup rather than assume: what happens at the point a candidate accepts. Ask specifically how a hired candidate becomes a new joiner, what carries across, and who does it. That is the step worth understanding before you run a real hire through it.

Performance management

Reviews, goals and feedback, also on SME and Enterprise. The common mistake is launching a full review cycle as the first use. Start with something smaller — one round of structured feedback, or goals recorded for a single team — so that your first full cycle is not also everybody’s first encounter with the module.

The AI HR assistant

Available on SME and Enterprise, with 300 assistant calls a month on SME and 600 or more on Enterprise. It is worth being precise about what it is, because “AI” invites assumptions in both directions.

What it does: answers employee and manager questions about your policies, benefits, leave and procedures, in plain language, drawing on your own knowledge base. The point is that your HR team fields fewer repetitive questions.

What it does not do: it has no access to HR records, and it makes no decisions about people. It is available only to people who are signed in, on the employee portal and the learning portal. It is never on the jobs portal, so candidates never encounter it. Each customer can switch it off.

By default it runs on Mistral, a European provider, through an EU endpoint, which keeps no copy of the questions and does not train on them. Knowledge retrieval runs on EU infrastructure in Ireland and indexes no personal data. Users are asked not to type personal or health details into it, and that instruction belongs in your announcement if you turn it on.

The assistant is only as good as what it reads. If your policies are out of date or contradict each other, it will answer from out-of-date, contradictory policies. Tidying the knowledge base is the work that makes this feature worth having, and it is better done before you announce it than after someone gets a confident wrong answer about parental leave.

If sending questions to an outside AI provider is not acceptable to you, the employee-portal assistant can instead answer from a model hosted for your company alone inside your own EU environment, so questions are not sent to an outside AI company. That is an optional extra on the SME and Enterprise plans, available on request and priced on request.

AI writing help

Drafting help for job descriptions and training content, on SME and Enterprise. Treat its output as a first draft that a person edits, which is what it is.

Custom integrations

Available on Enterprise. The payroll handoff from Lesson 1 is the obvious candidate: getting the preliminary payroll to whoever processes it, on a cycle, without anyone retyping it. Be specific about what you want to flow, in which direction and how often before the conversation starts, because that is what determines whether it is simple.
